My Approach

"Beyond the mechanistic and reductionist view of life that is so widespread today, there is a sensing, feeling, knowing and living organism."

Peter A. Levine

Integrative body psychotherapy (Integrative Körpertherapie) is the umbrella term for my work, the focus of which is to support people in finding access to their sensing, feeling and knowing body. I believe that this not only enables a more alive, richer and more self-determined life, but that access to deep, early and non-verbal layers of ourselves is often a necessity for therapeutic success.  â€‹

The basis of integrative body psychotherapy consists of Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory, Peter A. Levine's body-based trauma therapeutic method (Somatic Experiencing®) and the dance and body psychotherapeutic methods I have found effective in my clinical experience.

It is useful in treating symptoms and disorders caused by stress and trauma. These can include anxiety, panic, restlessness, insomnia, depression, exhaustion, migraines, chronic pain, fibromyalgia and digestive problems. When these symptoms have been clarified medically, Integrative Body Psychotherapy can contribute to their alleviation - sometimes, where other approaches have not succeeded.

In my practice, I offer Somatic Experencing (SE) ® as a body-oriented method to resolve traumatic stress, dance/movement therapy as an artistic-psychotherapeutic approach. Somatic Movement is a supportive, exercise-centered and trauma-sensitive movement practice.

Depending on a person's individual history and situation, it can be appropriate to focus exclusively on Integrative Body Psychotherapy (or its underlying approaches) or to combine it with other psycho/ therapeutic approaches. I am happy to work in cooperation with your therapist based on a release from the confidentiality agreement.

An initial appointment costs € 50 . Costs for further appointments upon request.

Certain alternative health practitioners' supplementary insurances cover part of the costs (for HP Psych). Please inquire with your health insurance company.
