NARM® (Neuroaffective Relational Model)

"The spontaneous movement in all of us is towards connection. No matter how withdrawn and isolated we may be, and regardless of the severity of the trauma we have experienced, just as a plant spontaneously moves towards the sun, there is an impulse towards connection within each of us at the deepest level." Laurence Heller / Aline La Pierre

The NARM approach was developed by clinical psychotherapist and long-time Somatic Experiencing® trainer Laurence Heller to specifically address complex trauma, including attachment, relationship and developmental trauma. It integrates a body-centered and psychodynamic approach.

Following the individual process, the client and therapist join in exploring the patterns of psychophysiological dysregulation and identity distortions resulting from early and often chronic experiences.
